Short Biography and Research Focus

Born in 1999 and raised in Saarbrücken, Jan completed his Bachelor's at FSU Jena. During his Bachelor thesis, he worked on the synthesis of post-Grignard compounds under the supervision of Prof. Westerhausen. Subsequently, he pursued his Master's degree at the University of Vienna, focusing on organic and computational chemistry. For his Master thesis, he joined the group of Prof. González. Jan completed his Master's with honors and, in January 2024, began his Ph.D. journey with the group of Prof. Zipse. His current research interests focus on elucidating and understanding reaction mechanisms through the use of computational methods.
